Game Cleaner is a cleaner program designed to cleanup gameplatforms and freeup diskspace. It's basically created around a filesearch script. There are gamers who have a lot of games on their system. Not every game but many games can create files in the form of logs. Especially 'Early Access' games can create more unnecessary files. You may also want to clean up a certain platform and make it as new again without having to install it again. It uses win32 components to retrieve and display computer specification data. This also extracts the current percentage of CPU load. To show this continuously, a low-cpu consuming backgroundworker is used instead of a timer. There's only one timer used to show the current local computer time.
Find correct folder locations.
In Game Cleaner Path Data tab you can set the correct work location yourself. Only the default locations are listed here after installation. As soon as you have made the correct changes you can immediately continue without having to save anything. For example, if you don't have EPIC games then leave it as it will be ignored. Saving happens when you close Game Cleaner or when you press save in the small settings window.
Mark your choice.
Now you can select what GameCleaner should look for. As soon as you click on Analyse this will be looked up. If an option is later found to be unavailable, it will be skipped. If you only want to search for old files go to the settings window and change the range.
Check the files!
When finished, you can check the files & folders that have been found yourself. If you want to keep certain files, you can still remove them from the list with the Del key. It is also possible to open a particular file and check the content for relevance. Also, you can open the particular location where the files are located.
Delete the files.
When you are done, Checking the files and folders, You can click on the Delete button and all files still present in the list will be deleted. Afterwards, you will see how much of the data has actually been deleted. Please note that the files will then be deleted forever. Current cache data that still appears to be needed is downloaded again after starting a game platform.
